Gatehouse was founded in 2004 by Kim and Bill Sankey. We started Gatehouse after our careers in the wholesale furnishings trade couldn’t sustain our desire to own our own store. With Bill’s knowledge of the outdoor industry and Kim’s of the indoor home and gift industry the concept of an indoor and outdoor boutique was born. Following a trip to Paris, we came back completely inspired to create a sophisticated, casual living store where indoor and outdoor spaces were reflective of one another. Outdoor fabrics, organic palettes, and natural finishes inspired our look. We believe quality is key, style is important and should be functional, fresh, cozy and coastal or whatever it is that makes your home special to you. We believe in the power of great design. We share a passion for casual yet sophisticated California inspired living, a perfect harmony between the indoors and out. Our mission is to inspire and enrich our clients’ lives by creating artful, unique and fulfilling personal spaces.
